A native of Southern California, Mr. Jiménez began his musical training in the public schools of Whittier in Los Angeles County. He attended La Serna High School and later moved north to earn his Bachelor of Music degree from California State University, Stanislaus in Choral & Instrumental Music Education. Before coming to College Park High School and the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, Mr. Jiménez served in similar capacities teaching choral and instrumental music at all levels (K-12) with Woodland Joint Unified School District and River Delta Unified School District. 

Mr. Jiménez stays active as a performing musician. Having two primary instruments (percussion & voice), he has had tremendous opportunities with various groups and organizations. He has played percussion with Modesto Performing Arts, YES (Youth Entertainment Stage) Company, the Merced, Modesto and Stockton Symphony Orchestras, the Sacramento Symphonic Winds and with the Sacramento Philharmonic as an occasional substitute musician. He has also sung with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra Chorus, Schola Cantorum of Sacred Heart Church in Sacramento as well as the Sacramento Choral Society. In addition to these activities, he also taught percussion and jazz at Summer Music at Stanislaus and the Hayward-La Honda Music Camp. Currently, Mr. Jiménez is a percussionist with the Contra Costa Chamber Orchestra and the San Francisco Wind Ensemble.
